Projects

Our team of certified nature experts have carried out a range of environmental projects, including initial environmental screenings, ornithology monitoring and sustainable strategy development for biodiversity conservation.

Ecosoul is currently the most active participant in renewable energy projects, carrying out Environmental Impact Assessments of natural values over a total area of more than 5000 ha. In addition, community impact assessment services and stakeholder engagement plans are being developed. Ecosoul is, to our knowledge, the first company in Latvia to carry out a Social Impact Assessment for a renewable energy park.

Initial Environmental Screenings for planned solar parks

Tārgale & Brocēni, Latvia

In fall of 2023, the Ecosoul team of certified nature experts conducted two initial environmental screenings for a ~138 ha planned solar park site in Tārgale, Latvia and a ~114 ha planned solar park site in Brocēni, Latvia. The goal of the initial screenings were to determine biodiversity, hydrogeology, landscape and other environmental characteristics of the current sites and their surrounding land use, as well as outline the possible environmental impacts the installment of solar panels and cable routes may pose.

Innovative artificial intelligence species monitoring systems for wind power plants

Kurzeme region, Latvia

Ecosoul provides intelligent solutions to protect biodiversity by using artificial intelligence systems to mitigate bat and bird collisions in wind power plants. These solutions make it possible to produce the maximum amount of renewable wind energy with the least possible impact on these two groups of species.

Initial Environmental Screenings for planned wind parks

Rucava & Aizkraukle, Latvia

Our team is conducting an Initial Environmental Screenings for a ~739 ha proposed wind park in Rucava, Latvia and a 1497 ha in Aizkraukle and Koknese, Latvia. The project involves evaluating the potential environmental impacts of the planned wind turbines, including effects on local wildlife, habitats, air quality, and community well-being. Through comprehensive analysis, we aim to ensure that the development is sustainable and aligns with environmental regulations. This assessment will guide the decision-making process, ensuring that the wind park contributes to renewable energy goals while minimizing environmental risks.

Habitat Restoration in a biologically valuable forest

Pāce, Bauska Municipality, Latvia

We are leading a habitat restoration project in a biologically valuable forest in Pāce, Latvia, focusing on preserving and enhancing its unique ecosystems. This initiative involves restoring native plant species, improving wildlife habitats, and mitigating the effects of past environmental disturbances. Our goal is to protect the forest's biodiversity, support endangered species, and promote ecological balance, ensuring the long-term health and resilience of this critical natural area.

Awareness-raising campaigns in schools

Aizkraukle, Latvia

We organize awareness-raising campaigns in schools to educate students about environmental conservation and sustainability. These campaigns involve interactive workshops, presentations, and hands-on activities that engage students in topics like climate change, biodiversity, and waste reduction. Our aim is to inspire the next generation to become environmentally conscious citizens, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to make positive contributions to the planet.

Social Impact Assessments and Stakeholder Engagement plans for large scale developers

We specialize in conducting Social Impact Assessments (SIA) and creating Stakeholder Engagement Plans for large-scale developers, for example solar and wind renewable energy developers. Our SIA process identifies and analyzes the potential social, economic, and cultural impacts of major projects, helping developers understand how their initiatives will affect local communities. The Stakeholder Engagement Plan facilitates meaningful dialogue with key stakeholders, ensuring their concerns are addressed and their input is integrated into project planning. This approach supports sustainable development, balancing the needs of developers with those of the communities they impact.
